Celebrating International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is all about celebrating the women who are making a real difference, and here at Dansez, we’re lucky to have one of them leading the way, our Managing Director, Samantha Carney. This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #InspireInclusion and Samantha embodies that in every way. She’s not just transforming a company, she’s shaping the future of dance wear and influencing an entire industry to be more sustainable.
Over the past 10 years Sam has completely transformed the Dansez brand, pushing sustainability with her vision to create quality dance wear that literally doesn’t cost the Earth, all made in Kent in our own studio. Sam has led the huge shift to using ECONYL® fabric, a regenerated nylon made from waste materials like discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps, and industrial plastics. Dansez has become a leader in sustainable dance wear, proving that eco-friendly can also mean high performance, stylish, and durable.
Under her leadership, Dansez has become an ongoing supporter of Healthy Seas, helping to fund projects that clean up our oceans and remove dangerous ghost fishing nets. Every Dansez purchase plays a part in protecting marine life, and Sam is passionate about making sure the next generation of dancers learns to care for the planet as much as they do their art. How amazing to be dancing in something that you know has been part of #wastetowear
Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible team behind the scenes made up of talented, passionate women (and one fantastic man!) who bring every Dansez piece to life. From expert pattern cutters to skilled machinists, they pour their craftsmanship and dedication into creating high-quality, sustainable dancewear. Their hard work and attention to detail ensure that every piece not only looks and feels amazing but is also made with care for both dancers and the planet.
They’re all the heartbeat of Dansez, and we’re so proud to celebrate them this International Women’s Day. 💙
